We made a 15 days tour with guide Saman. Just from the beginning to the end was perfect. The knowledge of all the birds, he find them everywhere, just brilliant!
Also the knowledge of the flora and fauna, we love it!

 

Vanaf dat we opgehaald warden voor onze tour met Saman, hebben we het onuys naar onze zin gehad. Saman’s kennis van de vogels en ze te vinden was onwus gaaf, Och zyn kennis over de voorhomenele dieren en planten zun geweldig. Weze tour kon niet mooier!! We habben genoten van deze 15 daaggse tour Walk With Jith is uiterst aan te raden voor elke birding, gewoon TOP!!

I did a short 3-day private tour to the wetlands south of Colombo and Sinharaja rain forest. 
It was a very pleasant trip, the guide Upali was very helpful and friendly.  
The hotel, Rock View Motel was perfect with stunning views and a lot of birds around. 

Dates: 03rd to 05th April 2022

 

With effective help, we could change the program according to our wishes at the very last moment

Our guide was very kind, was an excellent and careful driver, was full of energy, put a lot of effort in finding birds for us.

  • For us as birders the whole day visit of Udawalawe could have been skipped because it hardly had added value.
  • We spent 3 days in total in a jeep. It is a pity that in the national parks, it is not allowed to leave the jeep and explore the surroundings.
  • Hotel in Nuwara Eliya was a bit “darked” but staff was very friendly.
  • Communication could sometimes have been a little bit better.
  • With the advice and effective help of our guide, we could change the program according to our wishes at the very last moment

We had a fantastic time with Athula. He is a very nice guy and did everything for us both for birding and having a smooth trip. “If we had asked him to change the weather he certainly would have tried it.”

Our main goal was to see all endemic birds and we only missed Legge’s Hawk Eagle. A fantastic result especially because we had only 8 days.

Advise for future “short endemic trips” à Skip Kandy and Udawatta Kelle and spend more time in Kitulgala or Sinharaja.

Other advise: a telescope for serious birding trips.

We had a very pleasant trip and enjoyed it very much.

in the first place we had a very pleasant driver and guide: Tillany. He was friendly, always trying to do and plan the best for us, nothing was too much for him.  He was always on time and every day we had a clean car, inside and outside. It was a very pleasant person to do our two weeks holiday trip. We never felt any annoyances or anything like that, and that is remarkable when you are on a holiday trip with a person you did not know before.

Dear Jith and Upali,

Thank you very much for a birding trip which surpassed our expectations.

We saw a lot of wildlife during our walks including monitors, lizards, mongooses, snakes, eagles, but no crocodiles!

Thank you very much Jith for a great vacation! We very much appreciated your organization, enthusiasm to explain about Sri Lanka and for showing up things that we would never have spotted ourselves. When everything goes so smoothly the organization also seems easy, but we know that you were constantly busy in organizing, arranging the various parts of our divers walking, cultural tour around the archeological sites & ruins!

It certainly does not seem just 8 days ago that you & Mr. Silva picked us up at Colombo airport. The time has really flown by & we have done so much! The weather was great too, so rain at all. We particularly liked the way you approached the locals & where we saw them busy with coconuts, making cinnamon sticks & so much more.
