I am being met at the airport and throughout the trip, the guys have been amazing. Thillie and Indo are both very patient – especially with one non-birder – and have successfully shown us all the endemic birds as well as several mammals such as sloth bears and leopards.

We cannot recommend Walk With Jith highly enough.

The trip has been fantastic and there has been an easy travel around the South of the island, with everything organized for us.

Thank you for making some amazing memories!

We have chosen this tour operator for the second time

Massimo Pinto and Marino with Guide Dhammika

Massimo Pinto and Marino with Guide Dhammika`

Nucca è scontato in natura alberghi

Wilpattu Tree House - ottimo cibo / ottima camera.

Agape Hotel - Mannar: Da evitare.

Lavendish Wild Safari / Wasgamuwa: Eccellente!

Bay Vista Hotel / Arugambay: Ottima camera / buon cibo.

Euro Star Hotel / Minuwangoda: Ottima camera / cibo discreto.

Il nostro autista Dammika si è rivelato una ottima guida pronta ad accontentare tutte le richieste, oltre che essere una persona amabile, generosa e affidabile.

Grazie Dammika!!

Tour dates: 06th March to 19th March

Choosing walk with Jith tour turned out to be a most rewarding birding adventure for us in Sri Lanka. From start to finish, our guide, Uddika, pulled out all the stops to introduce us to Sri Lankan culture while setting up a pace that our age and physical limitation could handle.

Because birds were our primary interest as well as photographing as many as possible, it was obvious that Uddika’s experience and expertise in spotting birds was exceptional. He went above and beyond meeting our interests and needs. He connects well with everyone we met along the way.

When drivers with jeeps were needed, the company provided good spotters as drivers as well. They brought additional birding eyes for optimal sightings. Special effort was made to get endemic and shy species like the whistling and scaly thrushes.

He focused like a laser on these birds. We saw 236 species in 10 days, including 114 life birds and all 34 endemics.

Joseph Pimentel and Frederick Ramsay with Guide Thilina and Driver Indunil

This is awesome! We would happily bird with hey anytime, and he was worth traveling to Sri Lanka from around the world to bird with. He quickly reviewed our target list, remembered it and focused like a laser on these birds. We saw 236 species in 10 days, including 114 life birds and all 34 endemics.

Indunil is also great. He drove carefully and safely and we always felt secure. He's also good birder and helped us find many birds and then get satisfying views.

Both Thilly and Indunil are also very friendly and we enjoyed spending time with them.

Thanks, two, to Jith for the friendly and efficient correspondence as we set up the trip.

An outstanding birding, wildlife, and cultural photography tour

Bruce and Sandi in Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka

An outstanding birding, wildlife, and cultural photography tour, customized for our interests. Very professional and thoroughly enjoyable. We invite everyone to come to Sri Lanka and explore this amazing country.
This trip has exceeded all our hopes! Excellent guide Athula, very good lodgings, outstanding itinerary. Local guides were very good, particularly at Polonnaruwa, where our local guide was exceptional. The local guide for our visit to the Tooth Relic Temple, not good at all. We recommend not using him again. Everyone else, guides, hotel staff, and of course Athula have been wonderful.

Thilina and Indi our guide and driver were excellent.

The trip was fabulous.

Thilina and Indi our guide and driver were excellent. Hotels we stayed in all were excellent – very comfortable and accommodating.

The people we met at all the stops and sites were friendly and make us feel comfortable and safer & felt at home. There was never any concern for personnel safety.

The birding was super. Saw all the endemics + others, Total 188 seen + heard and not migration season and we never went to the north of the island due to time of our trip.

Archeology sites were fascinating. Walking on there with Jith was easy.  Highly recommended.

Iain Maidment and Upali

Iain Maidment and Upali

Overall a very well planned tour: Upali was knowledgeable and patient as out guide. Although there was a lot of time on the road (often wind and bumpy). He drove carefully and there was time to stop when we needed or something of interest.

Kitulgala was a good place to start and although it rained some of the time, we were able to see a lot of birds. Kaudulla park was excellent both for the elephants and Roller birds and Bee-eaters.

We enjoyed the cultural triangle, particularly Polonnaruwa (close up views of birds as well as the ruins) and Dambulla cave temple. Kandy was also enjoyable although the train ride was less scenic than expected. Horton plains was one of the highlights.

Tissamaharama and the nearby wetlands were also amazing, although there wasn’t a lot to see at Bundala park (no migrants).

All endemics found !!!

Marco Valentini and friends in Sinharaja

We have been birding with Walk With Jith 26.1 – 9.2.2019. The orientation and schedule comes from experience and have fully satisfied our expectations. Concerning hotel accommodation I suggest for photographers, Martin’s Lodge when in Sinharaja. Our *** totaled more than 210 species, of which many nicely photographed, often in challenging conditions. A special mention to our guide Thilina that is always available and flexible, tireless and knowledgeable. With his continuous efforts we have really enjoyed our stay here in Sri Lanka.

Great, Jith and Thilina

P.S. All endemics have been found!!!

He found the Serendib Scops Owl on a branch when it seemed impossible!

We have made a 7 days tour in order to see the difficult birds of Wet Zone and highlands. We are a family of five, with 3 children, and we have seen 32 endemic birds with our guide Thilina.
Thilina is a very good bird watcher, he found many birds through its calling, and he take care of our family while looking for birds. He found the Serendib Scops Owl on a branch when it seemed impossible!
The places we stayed were very good and the organization was perfect. We recommend Walk With Jith for making birdwatching tours.
