Possibly even better than last time! 3rd tour.

First, my apologies for my very slow response with these thoughts after my recent tour.

As always it was a delightful tour with many highlights. Some great birds, wonderful dramatic landscapes, comfortable accommodation, and excellent meals. (Possibly even better than last time!) This was my third Walk With Jith Sri Lanka wildlife tour and I'll be back for more. There are many places in Sri Lanka I have not been to yet, and old favourites to return to.

My expert guides Thillina and Indunil were kind, thoughtful, and good company. Their ability to find difficult birds is second to none, and I want to make special mention of Indunil's smooth, careful driving: I always felt safe and comfortable.

DESTINATIONS:

I think all the new destinations we tried were worthwhile - Anavilundawa Wetland, Peradawala Wewa, Kaudulla National Park, one or two others. Kaudulla was particularly worthwhile and a good one for anyone who has already been to Lunugamvehera and Wilpattu and wants something a little different. (Thanks to your careful recce trips and attention to detail.) No need for me to mention Kithugala, Lunugamvehera, Horton Plains, Tissamaharama, or Sinharaja - their qualities speak for themselves.

 ACCOMMODATION:

The Tamarind Tree Hotel was good, smaller than some of the huge multi-story places on the beach and all the better for that.  Good location, excellent room, nice gardens, good meals, helpful staff.

Palwehera Village Resort was fine; friendly and helpful staff, good room, excellent meals.

I particularly liked the Peacock Resort and hope to stay there again.

Ivy Bungalow was excellent in all respects.

Hibiscus Gardens is outstanding, could not be better.

The Rock View, as always, was a good place to stay. Helpful friendly staff, wonderful location, good meals, comfortable room.

TRAVEL:

Thilina and Indunil have driven you all around Sri Lanka on your recce trips: you know how careful and safe they are. We did a few long days on the road and Indunil's concentration never faltered. He is a good man. Oh, and I bowled them a couple of googlies with last-minute requests (such as climbing Sigiriya) which they fitted in with very helpfully.

Thank you for your care and attention to detail. It added up to another happy trip for me and I look forward to another one sometime in the next few years.
