We have enjoyed a wonderful eight days successfully seeing all the endemic bird species. Tharanga worked tirelessly to find all the endemics and to ensure we had a brilliant trip. His knowledge, passion and good nature ensured that we had a fabulous time and learnt a huge amount about the wildlife and culture of Sri Lanka. As we are photographers this meant not only did Tharanga have to facilitate us seeing the birds but where humanly possible photographing them as well!

We wanted to experience what Sri Lanka has to offer over a relatively short period. This tour came right at the end of 6 weeks’ traveling, and we didn’t want to spend a long time trying to find accommodation and where to go. This tour delivered just what we wanted: some wild-life, some culture, some history. Whilst we usually don’t like doing “touristy things”, we felt we needed to get a “flavor” of Sri Lanka in only 6 days, and this tour hit the spot!

Jith gave in an excellent service, tailormade for our requirements. I can strongly recommend Walk With Jith!!

The birding trip itself was very well organized and managed by our bird guide – Athula.

Athula was an expert on the birds in all the locations and National Parks -  The Parks are so big that you need to know the best places, to go to avoid the crowds.

Athula also took in to some other great places in the hill to find the endemics. We had a good haul of photos to take home.

Of course, it’s not all about birding for a perfect trip. The guide needs to be patient with guests and Athula was always helpful and attentive.

Overall – Great trip much enjoyed.

The trip was great; well organized and delivered. The locations were well chosen to meet the bird and other wildlife watching interests.

The hotels were good, the people friendly and helpful – delightfully so.

The guide, Hetti, became part of the family. He was / is expert at finding birds and other wildlife. Good company – in fact great fun. Score 10/10.

Good all through tour, got all endemics western food if preferred. Guide Thilina very helpful knows the birds and calls well, vehicle comfortable with plenty of room. All round a very good trip with friendly people.

We had a wonderful trip. Upali was an excellent guide and so calm driving the exciting roads of Sri Lanka. He was not only very knowledgeable about birds but the flora and fauna too.

It was so good & very special for him to organize a surprise birthday cake at the hotel in Tissa. We saw all the endemic birds and also fitted in some “culture” too, The evening stroll at Kandy was memorable for the first outs and the temple, the hotel free for the monkeys taking our bananas at breakfast.

We will be back!

This was our first holiday of this type but it will not be the last. The program that was put together surpassed the remit to see some of the cultural highlights, visit the wildlife ‘hotspots’ and also fit in some birding.

Service was excellent from first content through to our superb guide Saman who not only continuously amazed us with his bird and wildlife knowledge (no need for Google with Saman around) but was patient with a very Bad Birdwatchers and went out of his way to fulfil various random requests.

Many thanks for a wonderful holiday. We feel like we have really experienced Sri Lanka with its fantastic scenery, culture, animals, birds and friendly people.
With the holidays wildlife tours we had a super guide in Upali. He was polite, thoughtful and extremely knowledgeable – making sure that we saw as many birds and animals as possible–especially the endemics.

We were extremely pleased with the trip that we booked with Walk With Jith – our guide Upali has fantastic knowledge of all of the wildlife especially the birds and was a true professional.
We were looking for a unique holiday for our honeymoon, one that would be very special to us that we will remember for the rest of our lives and this trip certainly delivered.

The organization of the trip was excellent. All of the arrangements were perfect and this produced a trouble free trip. The services and knowledge of our driver/bird guide Thilina were first class and he knows very well how to find Sri Lanka’s birds. Due to his knowledge and hard work we succeeded in seeing all of Sri Lanka’s endemic bird species and many other species. Our trip list is 229 species.
