A short response to a short bird watching tour!
I had chosen Sri Lanka for this holiday. But knew that nine days is far too little time to get a comprehensive impression of the country. I decided a week of hotel vacation and a short observation tour for birds. (2 days). I found the tour provider on the Internet and contacted him early by email. Walkwithjith made me an interesting offer for two days Sinharaja rainforest.
The tour was professionally organized and guided! They picked me up early in the morning at the hotel in Kalutara. The program was well thought out but also a bit ambitious. However, the many years of experience have paid off well.
The accommodation for one night (motel) was simple but clean and the view of the rainforest was brilliant. The only thing that really bothered me were the towels... They really would have to be exchanged for new ones.
My tour guide Upali was absolutely competent and has a good view of his country. We often stopped on the road to photograph birds from here as well. Unfortunately, the weather has not always played so well, it has already rained a lot. Later in the nature reserve, even the bird observers said... too many leeches! I had received leeches socks from the tour provider (thank you so much), but finally the beasts sat at my neck. Anyway…
After the two days, my tour guide also brought me back to the airport!
I really enjoyed the tour, it was very informative! That's why I will certainly come to Sri Lanka again to see this impressive nature and wildlife.
